'Low risk' premises to receive far fewer inspections
01/07/2011 Unnecessary health and safety inspections of shops and offices are to be cut by a third
As the next step towards Lord Young's aim of reducing the burden of Health and Safety on what he sees as 'low-risk' businesses the HSE and the Local Government Group have published joint guidance, which advises local authorities on how to concentrate on higher-risk companies and reduce the number of inspections of well run premises by 65000 a year.
